About The Passport Pages…
Hey! I’m Emilee Mason, and I am the blogger behind The Passport Pages.
I am a 23-year old, California native and a recent(-ish) grad from San Diego State University. While at SDSU, I studied marketing, got an internship with a technology startup in downtown SD, and upon graduation from State in August of 2015, I got offered a full-time position. Pretty lucky, huh? You are absolutely correct.
My life is great. My family is healthy and happy. I have a full-time job where I can bring my adorable English bulldog to work. I also don’t ever have to worry about making my own breakfast or lunch, company chef for the win! And, I have unlimited paid time off. Don’t worry. I am not quitting my job anytime soon.
So what is wrong? I have been working full-time for over a year and a half, and I am BORED. Every day is exactly the same. I wake up, go to work, go to the gym, watch Netflix or read, then go to bed. The next day, I do it all over again. I wish someone would have told me about how monotonous being an adult is. Sheesh.
So when I started getting a bit antsy, I began writing a travel blog. If other 20-something-year-olds could travel around the world and make a living off blog posts, I thought I could do it too. I wrote the same articles that every single person writes, “How to Pack Light,” “The Top 10 Things to Do in Madrid,” “The Five Must-Have Travel Accessories,” blah, blah, blah. How original. I am sure thousands of people were just as excited to read my blog posts, as I was to write them. (Sarcasm is my second language if you can’t tell).
In the midst of trying to find my space in the travel blogging industry, I realized I didn’t care about providing tips and tricks for traveling the world. Everyone travels differently, and for various reasons. What I am interested in is the stories that people make while traveling. My BEST stories are from times when I was traveling with friends, family, and studying abroad. I love telling these stories, and I love hearing about other people’s stories. They make me smile, they make me think, and most of all, they inspire me.
So this is my blog, The Passport Pages. I am going to share stories from my adventures and other people’s as well. Why? Because I truly believe the best stories are found within the pages of your passport. I know mine are.
My hope for this blog is simple. I want to inspire other people to travel, see the world, and live great stories.
So thanks for stopping by to hear some stories from The Passport Pages!
